Buttigieg to Black Protester: “I’m not asking for your vote”

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg addressed a crowd that was protesting the fatal shooting of a black man by a white police officer in South Bend, Indiana.

One of the protesters yell, “. . . and you want us to vote for you for president?”. Buttigieg responds, “I’m not asking for your vote.”

Um, not quite the response I would have said. Ouch!
