Facebook Has Turned Into A Toilet.

People ask me why I am not on Facebook anymore. Actually I am on Facebook but just not as much as I used to be. The reason for this is because Facebook has turned into a toilet.

So today’s podcast is all about my decision to stay away from Facebook as much as I can. That doesn’t mean I have stopped my account, it just means that I’m not visiting as much as I used to.

I’m also going to share with you why I made the decision to withdraw from my daily Facebook visits and why you should do the same. Enjoy.

Hi Allen, I’m digging your helpful and funny broadcasts & posts, especially the way you color them with candor and witty bits of sarcasm thrown in.

I want to share with you an incident that I would describe as cyber bullying, or I suppose, it was probably closer to cyber terrorism and I’ll explain why.

You may have noticed a recent post of mine on Facebook where a “friend” had posted a news item in an effort to support Trump while dragging Obama and his supporters further through the mud, to which I responded with my short opinion that Trump offends me and he should offend all of you too. That is word for word my comment. I was shocked by the nasty responses I received from 3 people I didn’t know from States down South who not only proceeded to set me straight as to why they are not offended by citing perceived truths of all the good he has done presented in list form. They each then proceeded with a character assassination of me personally and targeted my sexuality specifically, (now I know how people of color must feel). The things they said about me were somewhat offensive and at first, puzzling, as I wondered where on earth they were getting the referenced points of contention. So I wrote back and reminded them that their bigotry was showing and how childish and off topic I thought (and they knew full well) they were being. Then I tried to blow it off. But, It continued to eat at me and I guess I was trying to sort it all out in the back of my mind since then as to how my personal life entered into it at all.

Then days later, it dawned on me. These “total strangers from Georgia and Mississippi must have traveled quite a distance in order to make specific references about exact characteristics of our home and property. While also ridiculing me about certain specific incidents that had occurred between my partner and I re: our personal relationship while at home, leading me to consider that they must have cased our place for a period of time in the recent past as well. How else could these blatant and specific digs about our individual situation be made? I’m not sure what if anything to do about this notion or possible breach of privacy by some unknown and clearly unfriendly faction. This is just one of the straws that has begun to break the camel’s back where facebook and I are concerned. For this and many of the same reasons you have shared, I have significantly reduced my facebook presence in the recent past. I have seriously considered deleting my account entirely, but if I had done that, I would never have learned that some imposter has had their head way too far up my ass for heaven knows how long for my comfort. Yikes and WTF? Thanks for lending an ear. Be safe, my friend.
